Chaos 6,954 Report post Posted April 29, 2018 Server Script Update (v6.3.2.4) | April, 2018 New Boat Shop Mapping Easter Event This easter event was especially interesting as it included IC company sponsorship's which made it possible. I hope to do the same thing for future events. Changes to Armor Me and Sjoerd were discussing how we can implement some community suggestions regarding player armor this update. We wanted to make it more clear what the difference in armor tiers get you and which you are wearing. We threw around the idea of making it physically visible on the character but we also didn't want to restrict people from wearing the vest under their clothes. Sjoerd threw together a system so that each armor item would have their own percentage of armor and would deteriorate on damage. However we ran into issues with making sure this performed properly. It became difficult to determine which armor you were wearing and each time you were damaged we'd have to update the value of the item to reflect that. This was harsh on server performance in our tests and less than ideal. In the end we decided to adopt a system similar to how GTAV handles armor. You can hold as many vest items as you can carry and then you simply click the item to apply it. The item is immediately removed and the player armor is set accordingly. This means you can't take off your vest, once it's applied it will stay on until used up to 0%. You can put on another(stronger) vest to overwrite the old value however if you choose. We hope to implement a upper right corner icon near the health "heart" that shows your armor percentage if you are wearing one. We hope this will make things a little more clear. Other Changes: The speedcam will now output to your console if you are using the UI for logging purposes /ignorelist now respects the PM username setting Dinoco now has access to the object spawner More consistent avatar cache Updated the clothing UI to show the right file size limit Age removed from /look as it's subjective and described by existing physical features Improvements to /look so there's more room for text Players can see admin /ed Reduced the delay of weapon shellcasings Disabled the stock siren on the firetruck in favor of the custom one /givemoveitem will allow players to move items in dimension 0 so they don't have to yell at admins for not moving it just how they want it BUG1423: Adjusted the vehicle color to white when previewing a vehicle texture to not interfere with the texture itself BUG1436: Fixed insurance policies persisting on vehicles for longer than they should Climb ladder truck is now in the right click menu Closing Remarks Internally we moved to GitLab for all our projects.
