San Andreas Today: Urshankov Ramerov announces run for County Commissioner, seeks to revert "CPQL" branding

LOS SANTOS --  For the first time in three election cycles, more than one name will be on the ballot that will be used to decide Los Santos’s next head of county government. That name will be “Urshankov Ramerov”, the thirty one year old representative of the San Andreas Populist Party and ex-employee of the Los Santos Fire Department. Mr. Ramerov is the chairman of said party, but unlike the SAPP, he is not a new figure in Los Santos’s local politics scene. He stood for mayor against Thor Askeland in 2016 (coming second) before successfully being voted into office as representative of district three later on in the year, both times standing as independent.

But an independent no longer. Urshankov’s party announced the approval by the election authorities for him to run as their representative earlier today in their first official press release. Alongside the news that the citizens of Los Santos would now have more than one choice when casting their vote, the release contained a preamble of ten relatively vague “party points”. The jist of which seems to make it appear that the party’s name is indeed accurate. But in his defense, Mr. Ramerov went on to elaborate upon what was published in a private interview where he took a number of questions relating to the current state of Los Santos county and what his party sees as the way forward.

“I believe that the people of Los Santos would like certainty, and at this time, it is evident that some citizens aren't satisfied with the current methods being used within government. As a party, we can bring unity, freedom and happiness back to the city, in a way our founding fathers intended.”  -- Urshankov Ramerov

Citizens of Los Santos enjoy this Christmas's festivities in the cold while political flames begin to rise across the street in the County Hall

Ramerov has spent, by his own admission, “the majority of Mr. Mengele’s government” out of the state. Since then there has been radical changes to the structure of county government, Mengele’s re-branding of the Los Santos county government to the “Consilium Populsque Los Santos” (more commonly referred to as the CPQL). These changes are something that Mr. Ramerov shared with us that he looked to revert, in order to simplify the system.

“The government shall gradually be reverted back to the original layout, after an internal review of each position, as some may possibly be merged, extended or removed completely…

Once a suitable government has been formed, I shall reach out to the citizens so they can have their own say in how the new formation is. I wish to revert it back to an easier system, that more people can understand, and encourage participation.”  - Urshankov Ramerov

His time in Texas also did not stop him commenting on his competitor, who he said has been “able to hold it together” with his actions over the year that he has been in office, but “has left himself open to some disputes”. What exactly these disputes are, Mr. Ramerov did not go into explicit detail, but shared that he felt that “some ordinance is defective and possibly unconstitutional” while not specifying what exact ordinance he was describing, only stating that he will “share his plans for that later”..

“We shall also, with the assistance of the appropriate agencies, attempt to run rehabilitation workshops with convicted criminals, in an attempt to get their life back on track...
As many reasonable people are, I am concerned with the rate of crime, especially the re-offending rate. However, we can not solely blame the individual, as they tend to be a product of their upbringing - whilst this does not excuse them, I believe we can do more as a government to prevent this. “ - Urshankov Ramerov

The war against crime, particularly street-gangs, has been a major policy talking point for many Los Santos politicians. Current County Commissioner Thomas Mengele, an ex-Chief of the LSPD himself, seems to have made that one of the focal points of his own political career, orchestrating numerous anti-crime initiatives like this summer’s heavy-handed “Operation Homeland”. Ramerov’s approach to the issue would appears to be less violent. Speaking on crime, he outlined policy to cut down re-offending rates and commented that the current policies of reducing rent in low income areas “doesn’t solve the issue of crime… in some circumstances [it] may encourage gang violence.”

Urshankov spoke too on about plans to “fuel the market” by “working alongside small and upcoming businesses in an attempt to reduce poverty”, but again did not provide a concrete plan how he intends on achieving this. This vagueness seemed to be a recurring theme, but it can be imagined that further details/a manifesto will be released in the future. For now though, this one day old party has already slotted itself into a void that has existed for one year now. It has become the only political opposition to the Mengele administration.

Comment: Dear Mengele. Please, get rid of these ugly Nazi Germany inspired Roman flags from the hall. And also, stop using google translated Latin.
I know Ramerov may sound like the name of a bad guy from a Call of Duty game, but I want him in office. He seems more down to earth than most candidates I have seen in my time and I think he'd be a good person to hear the needs of not only the average, but also the higher class citizens. Unless someone even better pops up, I definitely see myself voting for him.

Mengele erected the Adams memorial, comissioned the construction of the Williams Park and National museum of Los Santos. He brought accountability to all Emergency Response Services and cracked down on crime, as well as corruption within the Office itself. You ask me, he delivered on most of his promises, hence why the so called "points of conflict" are yet to be named in his service to the public.

Urshankov's entire candidacy is based on some vague liberal promise that's never gonna get delivered because it sounds good on paper, but is hard to exact. The last guy who promised to help upstart companies with government funding was, in fact, lining his own pocket with laundered funds, but I'm sure Urshankov is a real stand up guy, if he's got the vote of KKK.

Comment: "The last guy who promised to help upstart companies with government funding was, in fact, lining his own pocket with laundered funds". Is that so? Because if you aren't aware, it was Mr. Mengele, who in the November 2016 manifesto stated "Our government will work to incentivize small business creation and expansion.", but I imagine you're talking about someone else? With regards to the point of endorsement, it is impossible to predict who will support you, like the various companies who have supported Mr. Mengele in the past.

Comment: This man is down to earth, respectable and doesn't have an ego. May I remind everyone about the time a simple SAN engineer hurt Mengele's ego so bad that he cancelled the entire interview, stormed right out of the museum he was meant to be opening to the public, and sped off in a brand new mclaren sports car? He didnt even look any of his "Precious people" in the eyes, just acted like an inflated celebrity.

I'm voting Ramerov.

Comment: May I remind you that SAN has a history of pushing out Fake News about the CPQL, endorsing political violence, and corruption? Maybe the engineer was just the last straw. NYT might be worse though for obvious reasons.

Comment: It's not fake news. So much time in office has inflated T.M's ego too much, now he only views life through the window of commissioner hill or a brand new supercar. He threw a tantrum because an engineer made a comment, I was there. "Fake News" is just your typical 'get-out' line.

Comment: Nice fake news, though. Thomas Mengele doesn't even own the sports car you are refering to, I do. We were supposed to unveil the museum together, however, the SAN technician felt it necessary to comment on him in an offensive manner. Given the fact that SAN has a habit of reporting falsely on him and being offensive, then I understand his decision to boycott them.

That said, he sped off in a sports car because I offered him to test it plus catch up on a personal matter.

Nice try, though.

Comment: Don't feed the trolls. Honestly, you're wasting your time and energy. Any time you see a neo-nazi username or rhyming off whatever generic buzzword/dog whistle ("fake news") you're just better moving on and saving a few braincells.

He was a firefighter. He was a politician, he was a marine, he was a porn star. He used to fuck for money in the porn industry, so now I'm voting for him in this election so that he may fuck the entire Los Santos from the Comissioner chair for money.
