Mapping Team - Interior Policy
Request Form: https://forums.owlgaming.net/forms/3-mapping-team-interior-request-ooc/

In order to keep Interiors realistic, accountable, and non-disruptive to the community, we will from henceforth be using the following policy to govern interiors and their requests. Please note that Mapping Team / UAT are the final judgement on these policies - "An admin told me it was okay" will not be a valid argument if your interior is toggled or is seen to conflict with our policies. Always get the opinion of a MT member if you are unsure.

All Interiors

  • Every interior must fit the exterior that it is implemented on (size must not be excessively larger than what would be reasonable - this will be determined on a case-by-case basis as some exterior buildings are under-scaled massively while others are not). Those that fail to do so will be immediately disabled without granting a refund.
    • We expect you to use your best judgement here. If an exterior building is large, we will most likely be much less lenient on it, as opposed to tiny interior that can barely fit a single room. If you are unsure or need confirmation that something will be acceptable here, consult an MT member or submit an MT Contact (see the refunds section below).
  • Interiors must match the area they are related to in order to keep a level of realism (Commercial vs Residential).
    • e.g. You will not be allowed to have a Richman mansion interior in a random Idlewood commercial property or apartment building, etc.
  • Interiors must match, or be reasonably acceptable, to the type of building.
    • e.g. You cannot get a house interior on something that is clearly a storefront.
      • (Like places with glass windows in front that show a store inside, or signs that are clearly marking as such)
  • Subterranean additions (basements) are not permitted / will not be accepted on standard housing. They may be permitted / accepted on business properties that reasonably fit it, or high-profile or inner-city structures. This is in place to reflect heavy restrictions on building permits and city infrastructure that would not allow it.
    • Small additions, like a cellar, that are not purposed for living / extending the house, may be permitted, as those are at least more commonly found than fully finished basements.
    • Note that any case where these are desired should be requested directly through MT - adding it as a custom interior without MT knowledge to extend your house will lead to the interior being disabled, as the price must be adjusted accordingly.
  • Major Changes to properties that include specialty additions (subterranean, vaults, secret entrances, safe rooms, or heavy / extensive modifications that would clearly demand a high price) will incur a change in interior price. The difference of this price will need to be made up through MT as renovation and construction costs.
  • If there is no activity on a request after two weeks MT will archive the request.

Garages

  • Garage interiors will not be permitted on properties that are not actual garages.
  • Garage interiors will not be spawned on generic garage doors, unless the exterior is specifically fitting for a garage.
  • Garages must remain realistically sized for the exterior - you cannot fit a huge garage in a small garage building.
    • e.g. You cannot have a large garage interior on a small garage building next to your house in Dillimore, claiming it's 'underground'.
  • Subterranean Garages will not be accepted in low-income, small properties. These are realistically only ever found in mansions, high-profile homes, or inner-city structures (such as apartment buildings or residential structures in downtown / central city areas).
    • Any property that meets the requirements and wishes to have a subterranean garage MUST contact MT prior for approval. Simply uploading it yourself as a custom interior without this will lead to the interior being disabled. Note that these garages will also cost more than standard garages, and the interior price will be adjusted to reflect this, and the difference made up by the interior owner.
    • Simple marker-elevators will not be allowed for these interiors either. One must posses a /gate elevator or ramp down to access it.

Refunds

  • Refunds will not be granted for interiors that are deemed to be unrealistic due to size, or that breach any of the above policies. You may request to have the interior changed, but no refund will be given.
  • It is your responsibility to judge if an interior is fitting to the exterior before purchasing it, or before uploading a custom interior. As above, no refunds will be granted if you purchase a property and then it is later deemed as unfitting and toggled.
    • If you are unsure, contact a member of Mapping Team to have them inspect and clarify if the interior current there is acceptable before purchasing it, or if your custom interior map is acceptable before you upload it. You can use our Public Contact for this as well: https://forums.owlgaming.net/forms/62-mapping-team-contact-ooc/
