Why are things being changed and only staff being told?

Recommended Posts

Players can't use N to move items outside anymore. Meaning you can't place notes correctly etc.

I spoke to an admin and was told this was recently changed to admins only.

Why are things being changed without the players being informed? I tried for about 20 minutes reconnecting trying to use N to move an item.

At least on the old UCP there was a change log but after Maxime left that was scrapped and now we just have the old script updates every month or so.

You can't just change things and only tell staff. Not only does it create more jobs for admins to do, explaining what's changed on every report but its just downright annoying.

 Actually they can.

Is it wrong? Perhaps.

Removing features is always dangerous. But if there's proper reasoning, probably abuse or wrongful use, why shouldn't they?

It will most likely be bundled in the next script update.

Correct. The N item movement option allowed players to freely exploit a bug, hence why it was changed.

Also, if something wasn't working properly, F1 report is always helpful and could have prevented a 20 min mongo reconnecting.

regular players shouldnt of had that option in the first place (outside an interior).

  • Removed collisions on item-move and only allow it in interiors unless you're an admin

This was originally only meant for staff members - N-Click and the 'Move' button were only accidentally added for players in a previous update (that added the 'Move' button to the right-click menu - an oversight, most likely). (It sucks tho cuz MT don't get that perk now either)
