  1. Not the point of this debate. Like it or not, the fact that it's brought up (apparantly) every 6 months may suggest something. Flaming those who participate in the discussion, or each other over it is not the goal, nor is it contributing to anything. Feel free to voice your opinion on the matter though. I am honestly curious how everyone feels about it.
  2. Script Suggestion What would be the name of the script(s)?- Adding Dealership/Car Rental. What kind of script(s) are you suggesting?- Vehicles What is the suggestion?- I would like to suggest implementing a extra NPC dealership/car rental/carpool area near the new player spawn locations. I have been talking to a lot of new players and I get a lot of feedback that they aren't quite clear on where to go. They do not know about the current token system and believe they aren't able to buy a car. In turn they believe to have to resort to walking. Many seem to be quitting due to this false impression. What are the advantages?- - Keep players in. That's the main goal afterall :). What are the disadvantages?- - None? Perhaps a /playtime/hour limit could be put so that established players cannot make use of these vehicles. When left unattended, perhaps a script that despawns these vehicles after x amount of time to keep the gameworld tidy. Do you have any resources to support our scripters in making said suggestion?- I do not. Although I suspect the civilian cars could be used for this. How would you go about implementing this idea?- Find a parketplace near the spawn points/move the spawn points slightly (airport in LS?). Place civilian cars. Profit.
  3. Agreed with @Effect statement above. I hope they will be reworked. What irks me, personally, is that anyone joining the server gets a -permament- property and vehicle without having had to do anything for it. From an IC perspective this makes little sense. Temporary assets would make more sense if we take a real life comparison in the equation. I still only see advantages to a 'temporary asset system' to accomodate new players. The disadvantages mentioned above won't be a factor, due to these players having been able to get established long before the expiration date of a temporary asset/rental/whatever.
  4. I find myself agreeing with @Kashmir. While I understand the reasoning behind the current system, these could be tackled by a temporary system better than a permanent one like we have now. Rental vs Permanent Ownership is but one of many examples on how this could be handled, although I feel it may be the best fit due to us being a hardcore roleplay server. The freebie bit is meh, and wrecks the player economy currently.
  5. Hi all. I would like to know how you all stand on the current 'starter-token' system. This question is following a discord discussion and I feel that, although the tone in that discussion may have been off, a few good points were made. I have never been a real fan of the character tokens because they feel like a 'freebie' in this (hardcore) roleplay server we play on. I understand the reasoning why they have been put in use at one time (following that players need a residence etc ingame for jobs etc). I however would like to propose a different system. One which offers the same as the system currently does, albeit in a different way. Rental? We could set up houses for rent ánd for sale. New characters get a x-day period of free rent after which time they are to pay it. This will still allow them to get set up and get the hang of the server while they don't have any expenses yet. Most the world's population rents and doesn't 'own' a house. I figure it makes sense? Players could still apply for the Government factions becaue they will have a adres upon which they are registered. This will lead to that when a player is in the position to purchase a property, this will feel like more of an accomplishment as opposed to it being a 'given'. It may also provide for an avenue for real-estate investors ingame to earn a buck from the houses they own by being able to rent these out to players. Rental could also be used for start-up businesses and factions. When they have made enough bank/established themselves, they can always decide to buy the property. Few businesses in real life actually own the property upon which they operate. Summary/TL;DR: I believe a rental system will lead to players being more engaged in their character in a way, feeling more accomplished when they do own a property and it provides extra avenues for roleplay. And it stimulates a more healthy server economy. Thoughts? Please, discuss!

Script Suggestion What would be the name of the script(s)?- Location sharing by Phone What kind of script(s) are you suggesting?- Items What is the suggestion?- Much similar to the way the location sharing through the advertisement-system works, allow PC's to text their current location to other players like you can in 2020 ;). What are the advantages?- - Easier meeting up. - Another functionality on the phone. - For those who cannot give directions (me), an easy solution. What are the disadvantages?- None. Metagaming would be impossible due to it requiring a IC handling to share the location, which everyone would see. Do you have any resources to support our scripters in making said suggestion?- Perhaps the current code used by the advertisement system can be used? How would you go about implementing this idea?- Seperate app on Phone.
  8. Script Suggestion What would be the name of the script(s)?- Cigarettes/Cigars and Masks ingame. What kind of script(s) are you suggesting?- General What is the suggestion?- Allow for players to buy cigarettes from the general stores and clubs. When players have these in their possession, the smoke animation (hopefully) will also actually hold a cigarette in their hands. Allow for players to buy a mask, which hides their "name/id" when equipped. What are the advantages?- Right now the smoking animation is off, because the character moves as if they are smoking but they have nothing in their hands. It looks- .. unfinished. The masks prevent metagaming in the event that another player is 'losing' as it were. Keeps the server healthy. What are the disadvantages?- Smoking? None. Masks may need to be monitored. Current playerbase won't walk around 24/7 in Los Santos with a mask on. But who knows what the future playerbase may do. Do you have any resources to support our scripters in making said suggestion?- Several other servers offer both already. Sadly I have no access to the resources they use. GTA:W offers players to offer a tabacco store with functioning cigarettes being sold for example.. How would you go about implementing this idea?- Tabacco stores! General Stores! Gas stations!
  9. Script Suggestion What would be the name of the script(s)?- Multiple Skins for current NPC's. What kind of script(s) are you suggesting?- Properties What is the suggestion?- I am making this suggestion on this forum at Daniel Exotic's request. It is pretty self explanatory; 'Would it be possible to make multiple skins for various 'business' NPC's (such as shopkeep/bartender) and allow Admins to spawn these.' What are the advantages?- This will add some uniqueness to the various businesses around the city. Currently we all have the old white guy shopkeep ;). In addition to the above, could a form be created for players to request specific custom NPC's for whatever they need them for? The Team can then decide to approve or deny the request, based on the request and Dev time/willingness available. What are the disadvantages?- More Dev work. Do you have any resources to support our scripters in making said suggestion?- From what I read on the web, there's already many 'prepared' NPC's in the RageMP resources. Select from those?   10. Script Suggestion What would be the name of the script(s)?- Being able to limit/set the speed in a vehicle. What kind of script(s) are you suggesting?- Vehicles What is the suggestion?- A keybind to allow players to set a speed limit they can drive. (Or remove the limit they previously set ofc.) I often find myself breaking the speed limits because there is no real way ingame to limit how fast you're going other than paying constant attention to the speed-meter. This results in driving like a idiot, pumping gas, releasing, breaking, pumping gas etc. If I could set my max speed to 50 and just hold down accelerate and break accordingly for stoplights and turns, It would make my life a lot easier. What are the advantages?- More attention to the road and world as opposed to the speed meter. - Nice-to-have fix that provides for more immersion rather than driving like someone who is still learning how to get their drivers license. - Easier to follow the traffic laws. (If the player is playing a character who would do so) What are the disadvantages?- None. Do you have any resources to support our scripters in making said suggestion?- A variation on the cruise control script, I suppose? How would you go about implementing this idea?- Same as current cuise control system. It's essentially the same, but improved/better.

Script Suggestion What would be the name of the script(s)?- Show Missed Calls What kind of script(s) are you suggesting?- General What is the suggestion?- Would it be possible to show the missed calls in the phone GUI? Right now, when you fail to pick up the phone, you have no idea who called you. What are the advantages?- Not having to text the entire playerbase wether or not it was them who called you a few minutes ago while you were in the bathroom :). What are the disadvantages?- Players being able to go to the bathroom, thus spending less time ingame. Do you have any resources to support our scripters in making said suggestion?- Similar to the text system I suppose. Those are stored too. How would you go about implementing this idea?- As per RL phone.

Script Suggestion What would be the name of the script(s)?- [BANKING] Transaction Overview What kind of script(s) are you suggesting?- Banking What is the suggestion?- Being able to see the transactions coming/being wired in, and going out, of a PC account and Faction account. What are the advantages?- It would make it a lot easier for Faction leaders to track down who is taking the faction cash. It'd also open a avenue to reward certain members who contribute the most. For a player it'd make it easier which debts have been collected upon and which are still outstanding. What are the disadvantages?- None, I guess. Do you have any resources to support our scripters in making said suggestion?- Expand upon the current system. Put/copy the log message that normally appears on the left side of the screen when money is being wired in a seperate 'banking overview' tab. How would you go about implementing this idea?- See above.
  13. This is pretty cool! I had no idea the 'prison system' was live already. I am certainly going to do my best to attend!
